Feb 27, 2005 · I recently purchased a Sears Gamefisher 15hp outboard on a Grumman 14ft alum. boat. The numbers for the outboard are; Model:225581503Ser:10143Any info as to what year the motor is would be appreciated.I started the motor and ran it today in a tub of water with no problems. The motor has a whale... Bought this motor for $350, put a water pump impeller and a new fuel fitting on the tank. Did not even touch the carburetor. You can buy parts under Gamefisher or Force since they are identical. Some parts are expensive so ebay might be your best bet. I just bought a 1993 for $200. $300 is the max I would pay for that motor and the cheaper the better.

Re: 1996 Gamefisher 15hp Opinion?? No, you didn't pay too much. Those smaller engines are in demand and command premium prices. The 9.9 are most expensive because a lot of lakes have a less than 10 HP restriction. As far as parts: New ones may be difficult to find but there is a thriving market in used.

The water pump is working great and the engine is also. It cost me $100.00 but he threw in a 80s 9.9 Force motor with a bad cylinder to use as a parts motor.

It is ok for water to come out immediately.If you have no water coming out that means there is no cooling taking place.You can take out the stat and check it by putting it in a glass of cold water for a few minutes and then put it in a glass of warm water and see if it opens at all.It should.Charlie. I still have a Gamefisher/Tanaka 3HP and it's a good little motor. I'm guessing that Tanaka made the entire line for Gamefisher, but my 3HP is for sure a Tanaka.

Re: 15 hp gamefisher lower unit. It turned out to be a shift linkage problem. The linkage connection bolt wasn't tight so when I would shift in forward it would slip.
